Oh naval invasions happen, fighting the punic wars on my ancient pc and didnt expect Carthage to land in northern Italy it was Hannibal all over again :( Tim270 1945646']Lot of rage on CA's forums so still not exactly sure how well the release was received. One thing I would stress is that pretty much all TW games have had bad launches and need patching and balancing. Its a decent game for sure like all TW games, but ROME2 for me, is very underwhelming. Hopefully the Roman's will show up, but navel invasions have never been TW's strong point. There are like 4 starting tribes in England alone, and they are just so dormant in sitting there and waiting to get conquered, sure you have to wait quite a bit to be able to overwhelm them but none of them seem ambitious to try and expand or make any alliances etc. Maybe its just because I picked the Iceni, and after about 40 turns I have England and Scotland but I just feel really bored. What im getting at is it feels like a test of who can click through microing their army faster - rather than any deep strategy or tactics. Most dont really do much in the general's case but they really need to either change the interface or rethink the combat if they want to go down that path. Your units get way too many choices in very small abilities to perform along with your general.

Its way too fast for me for sure, its more like playing DOTA, trying to get off all my spells and shit as fast as possible.

Even full stack vs full stack you can finish the battle in under 10 mins for sure. Battles are SO quick though right now its hard to tell. Still just sits there when it has to defend, charges like crazy when numbers are even. One thing in Shogun 2 was that gaining a lot of power and prestige turned a lot of people on you, I really have not noticed that so far, I have had to do pretty much 0 diplomacy so far, feels pretty useless.īAI I cant really tell, no major fuck ups, I have lost some battles but that is more on me being inept. So im thinking ok, maybe they hate my culture? maybe they have friendly nations to them that dont like me? nope. They wont have alliances with me or anything, even though I am about 4x the size of their nation and much more powerful - its a massive benefit to them but they wont take it unless I pay them a shitload of gold with it, I can, but it makes no sense. Even with all that money, and trade-able resources - only one faction out of the ~ 12 I can see will trade with me. Army count 2/3rd's full with 2 full stacks of troops and a navy. For example, I have the majority of the UK.

I am 100% sure they will patch the diplomacy though - lots of complaints on the forums. Lot of rage on CA's forums so still not exactly sure how well the release was received.ĬAI is okay I guess - main things I have noticed is diplomacy is pretty broken on hard, even if you are rich and have resources to trade - nobody wants to trade and nearly all diplomatic situations require you to pay the AI in someway unless you are massively powerful, it just feels like its a arbitrary punishment for playing on hard, rather than any realistic development.
